Mr. Singh Mrs. Mehta movie, Aruna Shields nude scene passed with A rating

Bollywood seems to be coming of age and so seems to be the censor board. It is reported that the censor board has passed Aruna Shields nude scene in Mr. Singh Mrs. Mehta with an A certificate. The news comes in midst of regular reports of actresses striping becoming a common news over the internet. The latest to join the league is British actress Aruna shields. Bollywood with these kinds of developments seems to be aping Hollywood trends not only in terms of technology but in terms of nudity as well.

Mr. Singh Mrs. Mehta had a script that demanded a nude scene and Aruna Shields reportedly was the only one amongst the 60 contenders who agreed. The scene in which Aruna Shields has shed all her inhibitions involves her to
pose naked for a painting. As per the director, it is the character of Neera Singh and how her life changes after posing for the painting that is the theme of the movie. From then on the movie is about self-discovery.

There were a lot of apprehensions around Censor board’s decision on Aruna Shields scene in Mr. Singh Mrs. Mehta. The news of the scene being an integral part of the film now comes as a surprise to many. Bollywood has in the past witnessed reports of trimmings made to scenes of lesser nudity by the otherwise conservative censor board.

The cast of Mr. Singh Mrs. Mehta is delighted at the news and is enthusiastic to meet Sharmila Tagore. Sharmila Tagore chairs the censor board and the cast has appreciated her for the progressive approach employed in this case. Pravesh Bhardwaj has been quite lucky as he had no alternate arrangements made for the shot. Had the board reacted in a negative manner, it would have affected the plot of the movie which thankfully is not the case for the director. "With Mr. Singh Mrs. Mehta the board is set to rewrite history.” commented actor Prashant Narayanan.

The censor board’s approval for Aruna Shields scene in Mr. Singh Mrs. Mehta was not a cakewalk. The board apparently saw the movie twice and agreed that the scene was the crux of the film. It was this scene which acted as a turning point in the movie and chopping it off would have meant taking life away from the script.

For now its celebration time for Aruna Shields and the crew of the entire movie.
